Pacific Beach High School  Scholarship Program

Pacific Beach High School is supported by the community through the Scholarship Program. In 2018, eleven donor organizations, gave 39 scholarships totaling over $31,600 to 20 students. These awards ranged in amounts from $100 to $2,000.

A scholarship does not have to be paid back. Scholarships are usually awarded to students who show potential or demonstrate achievement in academics, athletics, music, art, or other disciplines. Some scholarship organizations require specific criteria to apply. Most organizations verify that students have enrolled in classes prior to release of the scholarship award.

Several of the scholarship organizations accept a generic application; several provide their own application. Some interview, some do not. Due dates for some begin as early as February 1st , others extend to as late as May 15th. Many require short essays as a way to get to know each student better.

A completed P.B.H.S. generic application, with attachments, is a required component of the Portfolio senior project. Turning the application in for consideration is optional, but encouraged.

If you will be graduating prior to June, turn in the applications before you leave and leave your contact information with the Career Center so you can be notified of due dates, interviews, and award functions.

To research other scholarship opportunities, resources are available in the Library/Career Center.
